The vital role of  soil and water resource in the economy and food security requires us to take basic  steps in effective, optimal and sustainable planning in order to utilize  these resources immediately.

The wastage of soil and water is among the losses threatening the country's soil and water resource. Controlling deterioration factors by exercising logical methods and approaches is the judicious solution to this important issue. Definitely, research on soil conservation and watershed  management is a strategy through which mechanisms to control damage factors would be obtained. In other word , research projects in soil conservation and watershed management which present scientific, efficient, reliable and economic methods to  control deterioration factors of soil, water and environmental resources management in the country have been the objectives for founding "Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Research Institute".
