Objectives:
Conducting scientific and applied research to identify hydrologic features in the country's watersheds and processes governing the natural water cycle in order to learn about or predict their responses to the exercised changes.
Functions :
- Creating and planning development programs and setting research priorities in accordance with hydrology research and water resources development throughout the country,
- Establishing close relationship in order to cooperate and exchange information and experience and utilize scientific and practical capabilities of provincial centers as well as those of other research division in the center,
- Participation in writing, compiling, analyzing projects purposed by provinces for hydrology research and water resource development,
- Writing and planning programs, supervising the implementation of research projects and concluding and publishing their findings throughout the country,
- Collecting information and creating databases in meteorology, hydrology and sediment measuring for the above cases in all the country's basins,
- Studying, analyzing and conducting research in the water balances, run-off estimating method, water resource identification in villages and analyzing all the factors involved in changing optimal hydrological behaviors,
