Objectives:

Contributing to the development of river engineering techniques through policy making and performing applied and basic research. 

Functions :

Policy making and establishing river engineering research station, 
Determining research priority and topics,
Developing river engineering research throughout the country,
Conducting applied and basic research projects,
Reviewing, correcting and approving of research projects,
Continued supervising, evaluating and administrative pursuing of research projects,
Coordinating national project and combining research findings,
Presenting research finding in applied forms.
